Guided Tour of the Razor Residence – La Jolla Farms Estate

The famed La Jolla Farms estate know as, The Razor Residence, has finally sold for $14.1 million.  It took three years, a number of auctions and a substantial price reduction of nearly $30 million.  To date $34 million has been spent on the home and it’s still not completely finished.  It was initially marketed at $45 million when it first came on the market.  It’s been featured in Architectural Digest and in ads by Calvin Klein.  Offering over 11,000 square feet of space with four bedrooms and six bathrooms, the home is perched above Black’s Beach and enjoys floor to ceiling walls of glass overlooking the ocean.  Designed by San Diego architect Wallace E. Cunningham, the home features an infinity edge swimming pool, rooftop deck, six car garage and a two level guest house.  Bob Hurwitz of Hurwitz James represented the seller, Jimmy Donal Cooksey, but there is no word on who purchased this extraordinaire estate. Some say this house inspired the design of Iron Man’s legendary mansion situated on top of Point Dume, California.
