The Residence | This home is a masterpiece that has been years in the making and designed for gracious but comfortable living. With 4 bedrooms and 4 ½ baths, this home is full of premium amenities including an almost new designer kitchen, huge living room with an adjacent large bar area and surround sound, billiard room, incredible master suite, large dining room with fireplace, 4 garage bays, porches and decks, and beautiful landscaping all sitting high on the hill overlooking Lake Summit. The original home was built in 1993 and the house was more than doubled in size in a 2003 renovation.
The Grounds | Designed by Rick Horger, formerly of Fazio Golf, and built to enhance the lake and mountain views, the low-maintenance homesite features mature landscaping and requires minimal mowing.
The Boathouse | The boathouse is truly a house in itself. The boathouse features 1 bedroom and a full bath with shower, toilet and custom vanity. The full kitchen includes a range, dishwasher, refrigerator and microwave. Boasting cathedral ceilings and Brazilian cherry floors, the large open living room/dining room opens up to a huge screened porch with one of the best views of Lake Summit. Down below are two oversized boat slips with boatlifts, storage room, huge deck, floating dock and nice swim area.
Lake Summit | Covering about 300 acres with around 10 miles of shoreline, Lake Summit is a very special place. Duke Power generates power from their hydroelectric plant at the eastern end of the lake. There are just over 150 cottages with boathouses around the lake; most used as summer getaways. On the western end of the lake and along the headwaters of the Green River, Camp Greystone for girls, Camp Green Cove for girls and Camp Mondamin for boys have a long history as thriving summer camps. The Green River is the main tributary for the lake, and with just one look into the water, you will know why it is called the "Green" River. Residents enjoy power boating, sailing, skiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, swimming, pontoon cruises and just sitting on the porch, taking in the view.
The Location | Lake Summit has long been one of the most desired locations in the mountains. Just 8 minutes from Flat Rock and 12 minutes to Hendersonville, Lake Summit is centrally located between Greenville, Spartanburg, and Asheville; each just about 35 minutes away. The Asheville airport is an easy 20-minute drive. The Charlotte airport is a 90-minute drive.
