Description of buildings
Born from the careful restoration of an ancient manor’s dwelling, Villa Senese show all its magnificence. The entrance gate gives access to a characteristic alley lined by ancient dry stone walls rising up to the top of the hill where a century old cypress, symbol of the Tuscany landscape, stands out.
The property consists of two buildings: the manor’s farmhouse of 625 sqm and the independent guest farmhouse of 240 sqm totalling a surface of 865 sqm.
The main farmhouse of 625 sqm
The manor’s dwelling features a solid stone structure with squared cornerstones.
The interiors preserve the original features and have been well designed to convey the utmost comfort.
Most of the ground floor (300 sqm) hosts the living area consisting of entrance hall, large living-room with fireplace, dining-room, majestic kitchen with fireplace and direct access to the outside patio, ideal for al fresco dining and a gym room (a potential further bedroom); utility room and toilet. The floor is completed by an en-suite bedroom, while a building connected to the main estate hosts a separate staff apartment, consisting of living room with dining area, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and directly connected to the laundry-room with technical room.
The upper floor hosts the sleeping area and is composed of a majestic manor suite with spacious bedroom with dressing room and large bathroom with shower, whirlpool bath and sauna.
Further to the manor’s suite, on the same floor there are two spacious en-suite bedrooms, characteristic living-room with fireplace and large studio.
The farmhouse is completed by a graceful cellar connected to a cave digged into the stone, ideal to store precious wine bottles.
The farmhouse for guests of 240 sqm
Beyond the swimming-pool, in the vicinity of the main farmhouse, there is another one used to host guests.
It doesn’t deal with a basic outbuilding, but a real farmhouse with the same exterior finishing as in the main one, but with three openings on the front recalling the characteristic barns typically annexed to the rural dwellings.
It is on two levels, with stone walls, but completely different from the main building with sober, linear, modern and bright interiors. The floors are made of stone, white painted walls exalting the furnishings and fittings made of steel, wood and glass. The ceilings are made of wooden beams and cotto tiles while some walls feature exposed stone in an great mixture of traditional elements with the modern design.
The ground floor hosts living-room with fireplace, sitting-room, dining-room, large and bright kitchen with pantry and toilet. The first floor hosts the main bedroom with studio/dressing room and private bedroom plus two further bedrooms served by a bathroom.
Outside, overlooking the dining-room, there is a spacious paved patio, located between the swimming-pool and the farmhouse, equipped with barbecue.
The restoration of Villa Senese, completed about one year ago, has been carried out to a fine art.
The materials, design, finishings and plants are absolutely excellent, featuring a quality that is definitely higher than the main part of the luxury properties currently for sale.
