A new luxury hotel has opened its doors in Oran, Algeria, and claims to provide “breathtaking views over the Mediterranean and a new perspective on the Algerian hospitality scene.” Le Meridien Oran Hotel is owned by Sonatrach and was designed by Rockwell Group Europe in collaboration with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. It is located only 4 miles from the city center and about 15 minutes from the Airport.
Elaborately designed, the luxurious hotel connects to a 72,000 square foot exhibition center. Essentially a glass box, the lobby of the Le Meridien Oran rises out pools of water at the tower’s base. “Artistic motifs” can be found covering the glass shell where “40-foot tall lantern-like tents” form areas to sit and relax.
Guests staying at the Le Meridien Oran can choose from a variety of accommodations to meet their needs. The hotel has 254 guest rooms, 28 suites, 12 Royal suites, and 2 Presidential suites, with the Royal Lounge providing private check-in/check-out, snack and bar service, and WiFi internet to guests staying in select rooms. There are three main options for hotel guest rooms: Deluxe rooms overlooking an authentic Fresco mural, Premium rooms providing views of the city and the gorgeous Mediterranean Sea, and the Royal Rooms offering Sea views and exclusive access to the Royal Lounge. The Royal suites also include access to the Royal Lounge and provide guests with “panoramic views” of the Mediterranean. Finally, the Presidential suites located on the top floors of the hotel include living and dining spaces overlooking breathtaking views of the sea, they are the finest accommodations the hotel has to offer and feature an exclusive contemporary design.
Le Meridien Oran features a number of dining options. The hotel offers a “live cooking adventure” at the Latest Recipe located on the lobby level of the tower. Meanwhile, Favola features a menu of 30 different Italian specialties and selection of anitpasti to stimulate your culinary expectations. Latitude 35, located on the hotel’s first floor provides a terrace overlooking the sea and a menu of “specialty coffees, fine wines, and bar creations.” Chaï- The Hub is the main coffee and tea destination within the hotel offering unique selections from around the world.
